Industries that hire these trades
How the search runs
Service trades inside the customer's property
This family gathers service trades that visit homes and businesses to repair, protect and restore. Pool technicians keep water safe and equipment running. Pest and termite technicians protect structures and health. Locksmiths and door technicians secure openings. Restoration technicians dry and rebuild after damage. Handyman and appliance technicians solve everyday problems. These people enter private space, so trust is the first requirement, with technical skill right behind it. We recruit working people and brief employers in writing.
Trust is the shared currency of this family. A pest technician is in the kitchen, a locksmith holds the keys and a restoration crew moves a family's belongings. Employers hire for honesty and a clean record as much as for skill, and we ask candidates how they handle mistakes, missing items and customer disagreements.
Titles we fill
We fill Pool and Spa Service Technician, Pool Equipment Repair Technician, Pest Control Technician, Termite Technician and WDO Inspector, Locksmith, Door Hardware Technician, Garage Door Technician, Overhead Door and Loading Dock Technician, Restoration Technician, Handyman Technician and Appliance Repair Technician. Pool and Spa, Pest Control, Locksmith, Garage Door and Restoration have dedicated role pages, and the others are covered within this family and can be requested by name.
Some of these titles overlap with neighboring families, such as building maintenance and appliance trades, and we say so when a request fits better elsewhere. Handyman and appliance roles in particular vary a great deal, from small repair scopes to full light-trade service, so we ask each client to define the scope and the limits of what the technician may do under local rules.
Licensing and certification distinctions
This family has the widest range of requirements. Pesticide applicators need state licensing or certification, and wood-destroying organism inspectors have separate rules. Pool trades may require certified pool operator training and, in some places, contractor licensing. Locksmiths face state licensing in some places and none in others. Restoration credentials come from industry training bodies. Appliance work may require refrigerant handling certification. Handyman scope is limited by local rules. We treat each as something to confirm for the job location.
Where these trades work
Employers include residential service companies, pool service routes, pest control firms, locksmith shops, door and dock service dealers, restoration companies, property management groups, apartment portfolios and appliance repair businesses. Route-based work rewards punctuality and customer memory. Emergency work rewards calm under pressure. Commercial work rewards documentation. We ask clients about route design, on-call load and vehicle policy first, because these decide whether a technician stays.
On-call duty, route density, seasonal peaks and vehicle policy vary widely, and candidates ask about them early. We encourage clients to describe the real schedule plainly, including holiday and weekend coverage.
How we qualify people
We ask about a recent hard call, how the person handled an unhappy customer and what they check before leaving a site. For pool work we ask about chemistry and equipment diagnosis. For pest work we ask about identification and product handling. For locksmith and door roles we ask about key control and hardware. For restoration we ask about moisture records. Employer-run background, drug and driving checks apply to candidates who consent, particularly because these roles enter homes, and we do not run them.
We also ask about their comfort with chemicals, heights, confined spaces and unpleasant conditions, since honest limits protect everyone.
Permanent hire by default
Every search results in a permanent hire who joins your payroll immediately. Direct placement ensures the technician is answerable only to your supervisors. We avoid third party arrangements that blur lines of command. For businesses entering private residences, this singular accountability structure builds essential safety and keeps legal liability clearly with the shop owner who knows the team best.
Sources and talent pools
The main pools are working technicians at comparable service companies, and technicians from neighboring trades who cross over with training. Technical program graduates with early work experience form another pool. Veterans with mechanical or security backgrounds can fit. Route supervisors and working owners considering a new operating role are another source. We describe pools by type only and never name employers, and we approach working people directly.
Career paths and where to go next
Growth follows skill depth. Route techs graduate into field lead roles or branch management. Pest pros move toward specialized entomology or auditing. Locksmiths transition into complex access control integration. Restoration crews shift toward large loss project management. Door specialists often advance into commercial service coordination. Review these technical trajectories then outline the specific role requirements for your current business gap.
Employers who describe their route, call volume, vehicle and training support honestly attract stronger candidates, and we help write that description so it is specific and fair.

Questions
What does a pool, pest, locks, doors & restoration hire search cost?
No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire. Fee terms are set out in the signed agreement.
When is the fee due?
A fee is due only when you hire a candidate we presented, as set out in the signed agreement.
What if the hire does not work out?
We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement.
How do you verify candidates?
Where a license or certification is required for the work, we confirm it with the issuing authority for the jurisdiction of the work. We discuss the scope in a live conversation. Any MVR, drug or background check that the role requires is handled by the employer with the candidate's authorization. We do not administer those checks.
Do you recruit union or open shop?
Either. Tell us which applies. Union referral rules and signatory agreements stay between you and the local, and we scope the search around them.
Is the search confidential?
Yes. We do not name your company to a candidate before they agree to a conversation, and we do not contact a candidate's current employer about them.
Do you recruit nationwide?
Yes, for local and traveling roles. We search by scope, not by city page.
